Electric cars are being talked about quite a lot in the media these days. There is no need for petrol with an electric car as it is powered by an electric motor. These cars use rechargeable batteries to power the electric motor. To prevent the car’s electric cells from being damaged a special charger has been built in order to charge the car’s battery. Charging the vehicle normally takes a few hours. The time it takes to charge a car is reducing all the time and the distance you can go is increasing. The majority of electric cars recharge at about twenty percent every hour so it normally takes around five hours before a car is fully recharged.
Many believe that electric cars will become a lot more popular in the years to come. And if this happens we can also expect them to be cheaper in price. There are a lot of us who would prefer to be able to top up our cars without having to go to the nearest petrol station.
