If you have just qualified as a driver you will be itching to take advantage of the freedom of the road. But new drivers are normally advised to settle for a used car for the first few months at least. This is because they are more likely to have accidents; especially the small bumps and scrapes that can make a car look old quickly. The logic is that if you get a scrape on a used car it can be a bit upsetting, but if this is a brand new car it can feel devastating. So that is why many drivers advice new drivers to go with a used car for a while as it can make these little bumps much easier to accept. And while this is a good reason to not choose a new car, there are a number of good reasons for going with a new car as well.
- Buying a used car and then later purchasing a new car after a couple of years is a bit of a waste of money. You are unlikely to get anywhere near as much for your old car then what you paid when you originally bought it.
- You never know what you are getting with used cars; especially if you are buying from somebody you don’t really know. Your first experience as an owner could be driving a complete banger. If you have no experience driving then it is less likely that you will be able to spot cars which are on the way out.
- Even drivers with years of experience are going to end up with a few scratches on their car; after all everyone makes mistakes. And no matter what type of car you are driving and how much experience you have, there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent other people from scratching your car.
- Why not take the enjoyment that only driving a new car can give; there’s really no point waiting for this unless you have to.
Technological advances today are often astounding. And the automobile industry bears testament to this statement. Take all things to do with the electric car. Great innovations in electric vehicles for example like compact crossover to name but a few.
